Sonasoft presents to the Sacramento Microsoft Database Special Interest Group

Sonasoft, Inc., a leading provider of disaster recovery and business continuance solutions announced today that it made a presentation and a demonstration of its product to the Microsoft Database Special Interest Group in Sacramento, CA on June 19. The topic of the presentation was "Disaster Recovery and Business Continuance simplified for SQL Servers". Bilal Ahmed, Director of Engineering and Vas Srinivasan, Senior Director of Marketing at Sonasoft made the presentation. The presentation and demonstration were very well received by the user group.
In the presentation, Sonasoft discussed about the shortfalls and limitations of some of current Disaster Recovery (DR) implementations ranging from tape backup scripts to clustered and mirrored systems. Sonasoft demonstrated a new approach that achieves superior results in a very cost-effective manner. Sonasoft's solution utilizes integrated software and hardware to simplify and automate disk-to-disk backup and recovery via web-based GUI, which can be accessed remotely, thereby lowering DR costs and providing an assurance of successful recovery. Sonasoft also provides a built-in tool to automate log shipping and associated pre and post standby tasks to support standby SQL servers.
